چکیده

Recently, a technique for facilitating rapid tracheal intubation — with the aid of nondepolarizing neuromuscular blocking drugs — has been described by Schwarz and colleagues (1985) using vecuronium. This method (priming) consists of the administration of a small dose of non-depolarizing blocker before induction, allowing sufficient time for the drug to reach the receptors and then the administration of a second larger dose after induction of anaesthesia to facilitate intubation. A suitable priming dose should allow the patient to maintain adequate ventilation and protect his airway. It should be well tolerated. In situations where suxamethonium is contraindicted (Gronert and They, 1975; Durant and Katz, 1982) this technique, if confirmed, would be a major advance. This study was designed to compare the efficacy of priming with vecuronium against suxamethonium, and a single bolus dose of vecuronium.

ABSTRACT-This experiment was carried out as factorial based on a randomized complete block design with three replications at the research station of the Islamic Azad University-Arak Branch, Iran, in 2011 and 2012. Experimental factors consisted of three levels of salicylic acid (SA); seed priming with distilled water (hydro priming), seed priming with 0.5 mM SA, and 0.5 mM SA  seed priming 1 mM...

Evaluation of Profitability of Seed Priming for Improvement Seed Germination Performance of Two Rangeland Plants (Festuca ovina and Bromus tomentellus) under Drought Conditions

The possible effects of seed priming on mitigating the effects of drought stress on germination and early seedling growth of two rangeland plants were evaluated in a laboratory research during 2015-16 growing season. The research was conducted as a 2×3×3 factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with three replications. The first factor was plant type (Festuca ovina and Bromus ...

Evaluation of Retrograde Autologous Priming (RAP) effect on Hemodilution and transfusion rate in operation room and ICU

Abstract Background and Objectives To perform open heart surgery, the patient needs to be placed on the bypass system. This initial volume causes excessive dilution of the patient's blood and the use of blood products, which can alter the surgical procedure and recovery of the patient. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of performing a retrograde autologous prime to reduc...

Physiological enhancement of medicinal pumpkin seeds (Cucurbita pepo. var. styriaca) with different priming methods. Mohammad Sedghi1*, Bahman Amanpour-Balaneji2 and Javad Bakhshi3

In order to evaluate the effects of priming materials and duration of priming on the seed physiological enhancement and biochemical traits of germination in pumpkin seeds a factorial experiment was conducted based on a completely randomized design with three replications at the University of Mohaghegh Ardabili. Treatments were priming with water, NaCl (3%), gibberellic acid (20 mg L-1), and asc...
